Catering Assistant – Whitakers Garden Centre

Whitakers Garden Centre are a well-established garden centre with a busy and popular café in the heart of the Prescot.

Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 Tuesday – Saturday

We’re on the lookout for a friendly and dependable Catering Assistant to become part of our team. In this role, you’ll be crucial in delivering outstanding customer service and making sure our patrons have a delightful experience with great food and beverages in a warm, inviting setting.

Main Duties:

• Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold food and beverages, such as sandwiches, salads, cakes, and hot drinks.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked café environment, including tasks like clearing tables, washing dishes, and restocking food and drink supplies.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing any questions about menu items.
• Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure food is prepared to a high standard and served promptly.
• Assist with daily cash handling tasks, including processing payments and managing the till.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within the catering or hospitality industry.
• A friendly and outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills.
• A keen eye for detail to ensure the café is always clean, tidy, and well-presented.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
