Walking into a new job can feel like stepping onto a building site – you know there’s a plan, but the pieces still need to come together.
We have designed our onboarding experience to lay the groundwork for your success, whether you’re behind the counter, out on deliveries, or supporting operations from the office.
Here is what your first week with us typically looks like:
Day 1: The Welcome Tour!
- Meet the team: You’ll be introduced to your colleagues and key contacts.
- Site Familiarisation: Safety is paramount, so you’ll have an induction and get a lay of the land – exits, equipment zones, and how we keep things compliant and secure.
- Hive Learning Portal Access: You’ll be set up with Hive, our bespoke e-learning platform that helps you navigate your role, policies and procedures. It’s your digital hub for induction materials, compliance modules and learning resources tailored to your job and development goals.
Days 2-3: Learning the ropes.
- Role specific training: Whether you’re handling materials or tracking the stock, you’ll start learning the systems and standards we use.
- Values in action: We’ll walk you through our commitment to inclusion, sustainability and ethical business practice – not just policies, but how they shape everyday decisions.
- Buddy System: You’ll be paired with a colleague who can show you the ropes and answer those “wait, where does this go?” questions.
Days 4 and 5: Getting Hands-On.
- First Tasks: You’ll begin contributing to live tasks with support nearby – expect a steady ramp-up, not a dive in at the deep end.
- Feedback loop: We’ll check in to see how things are going and make sure you have what you need to thrive. We want your voice in how we work, too. You will also receive a quick check-in call from HR to see how things are going and make sure you’re feeling settled.
- Training Opportunities: If your role requires specialist external training we will identify and arrange it to support your development early on.
Final Though
Your first week is about building confidence, not providing expertise. You were hired for a reason, and we’re here to help you bring that reason to life.
Welcome to the team. Lets build something great.
